If you have been here before and wondered where the old site went, or why nothing seemed to move for ages — fair. I owe you a proper update.
I have finally published the new CycleRunCode Club site using RapidWeaver Elements. It is not a perfect, polished launch-day finish. It is a real foundation I can actually keep working on. You can poke around the live site now at cycleruncode.club — About, Blog, Products, and Contact are all up.
Why did this take so long?
Honestly, a few things stacked up.
I was waiting for the Elements CMS side to settle down. Tags, collections, markdown content — the bits that matter if you want a site you can grow without rebuilding every page by hand. Jumping too early meant fighting half-finished features. I would rather wait and build on something that sticks.
The other half was life. Work did not pause. I have been building apps, training, mentoring, and trying to stay useful to people who ask for help. Somewhere in that mix I also had injuries and stretches of being properly unwell. None of that is an excuse so much as the reason the website kept sliding down the list. The club still existed in my head; the public site just did not keep up.
So yes — it took longer than I wanted. I am not proud of the gap. I am glad it is moving again.
What this gives me long-term
The old setup was fine until it was not. Static pages, fiddly updates, and every product or post felt like a mini project.
With Elements and the CMS, content lives in markdown with proper metadata. News, products, tags — that structure means I can add something without redesigning the whole site. Publishing is still a process (FTP, PHP, the usual hosting dance), but once it is set, updating a product or writing a post should be writing, not archaeology.
That is the real win for me. Less ceremony. More shipping. The live home page already pulls recent posts and club content from that CMS setup, so new writing should show up there without another full rebuild.
What is next
The products area will get more love. Some pages are thin right now — help sections that say coming soon, copy that needs a pass, better detail as each app matures. That is intentional. I would rather put something honest up and improve it than wait for a mythical finished catalogue. If you want a look at what is there today, start at cycleruncode.club/products.
I am also going to try and blog more. Not daily essays. Just regular notes — training, coding, apps, club life, whatever is actually happening. If the site only updates when I have a big announcement, it will go quiet again. I would like to avoid that. Older posts are already on the blog if you want something to read while I catch up.
